Anthony: It's been a rough start to the school year.  Well, let me be more specific...it's been a rough transition to the school year routine with homework and waking up for school, even though we have to get up at the same time year round.  Anyway, despite the constant battle lately at home, I have had a great start to third grade.  I got a 100% on my social studies test today.  I correctly named all of the continents and the major oceans.  Daddy said he didn't think he could even do that.  Do YOU know where the Indian Ocean is?  Really?

Dominic: The transition to a real school routine has been equally as challenging for me, too.  I have been a real "piece of work" lately...or so Daddy says...whatever that means.

Lia:  I'm 5!  Woo hoo!  I had a fun weekend with Grandma and Grandpa visiting.  Uncle Shawn, Bella, and the Mullers came over for my party, too.  Oh...and Olivia, my friend.  Besides one meltdown where I found Bella's birthday present and showed her and got caught and put in a time out on my own birthday, it was GREAT!  Grandma and Grandpa got me a very sassy little outfit that I wore the next day to Bella's birthday.  Mommy and Daddy got me McKenna, the gymnastics American Girl doll.

Anthony:   Look at this!  5 days into the month and we're posting again already.  That's nearly unprecedented this year.

Dominic: First grade is going pretty well so far.  Homework is a drag, but overall "real" school is not much different than kindergarten.

Lia:  I started gymnastics tonight!  I don't know if there is an Olympic games in my future, but I seem to take to the mats pretty naturally.  Too bad I will probably be the tallest gymnast ever at the rate I am growing.

Maggie:  I haven't said much in a while...a long while.  A lot has changed for me in recent months.  Well, not so much for me, but for my human whom I like to call my 'Betes Buddy. That's right, I have duh'betes, too.  It was rough going at first.  Drink, drink, drink, drink, drink, SPLASH.   Drink, drink, drink, drink, dribble.  Yeah, I get my human up a few times a night most nights still.  As long as he keeps getting up, I might as well take advantage of it.  I get a shot in the morning and a shot at night, but I barely feel it.  My human is a much bigger wuss than I am when it comes to the shots.  I take it in the neck while I'm eating for the love of dog.  He can give it to himself when he knows it's coming.  So, after all of that, I think I have a few good years left in me.

Lucy: I've really packed on the sympathy pounds for Maggie lately.  The human was feeding me twice a day with the yummy soft food mixed in, too, but I barely move otherwise throughout the day, so it went straight to my waist.  He's been cutting back on the meals for me, but I've still got a lot of work cut out for me to get back to my girlish figure.  Wait, who am I kidding?  I've always been built like a slightly taller bulldog bitch.  It's just who I am and I'm comfortable with that.  You got a problem with that?  I am Boston, hear me roar.

Anthony:   Goodbye, summer!  Hello, September.

Dominic: I am getting ready for hockey.  I have my helmet, some of the pads, and my stick.  Daddy keeps knocking me into walls and slapping me around.  As soon as I whine, he says, "It's gonna be a lot rougher than that playing hockey!"

UPDATE!  We went to an awesome store and bought the rest of my hockey stuff including my gloves, shoulder pads, knee pads, hockey pants, and new skates!  Thanks mom and dad.  This will all pay off when I make it big in the NHL in 15 years.

From September 2012

Lia:  Just 7 more days til I am a big five year old!   Daddy thinks I try to be 25, though.  What's wrong with that?
